Mystery Mansion is a family friendly haunted house and outdoor fest hosted by The Woman's Club of Chevy Chase.

Costumes are encouraged! For everyone’s safety, no weapons of any type and no major costume extensions beyond human size are permitted.

Careful planning this year means each of the three zones, Dark Castle, Dark Forest, and Dark Space will gradually get darker and scarier. There is a clearly marked exit after each zone. Absolutely no jump scares, no contact, and limited scary teenage actors will make it more family friendly this year.

Almost all scenes are new this year, but watch for two favorites to return. Alice in Wonderland and the Macbeth Witches are back - with a twist!

For all of you scholarly haunted house fans out there, watch out for the Year of the Dragon. Troublesome royalty, a twisted fairy tale, and a dark Scottish castle are highlights. Shakespeare, Dante, and Lewis Carroll are hard to resist. For the first time, Mystery Mansion ventures away from earth, for some sci-fi favorites in Dark Space.

This is a No Contact haunted house. Do not touch or harass the actors. They will not intentionally touch you. Please maintain a reasonable distance from the actors.

Yes! Entry to Mystery Mansion this year will correspond to your purchased ticket time, so you can not line up until your time is posted. Enjoy food, music, and s’mores until your ticket time, shown on your wristband. There is no reason to line up earlier.

New this year is a family friendly hour called "Before Dark," which is an early evening ticket from 5 pm to 6 pm that provides entry only to Dark Castle and Dark Forest--the Mansion's less-scary kid friendly rooms--at a reduced rate.

Mystery Mansion takes place rain or shine. The haunted house is a 100% indoor event, and much of the outdoor activity is protected from weather. Our actors work hard and thrive during gloomy threatening nights, so tickets are non-refundable.

Tickets are for timed entry only and you should be in line at the designated time of your ticket. Late arrivals may be admitted at a later time only if capacity allows.

Tickets are not refundable. Mystery Mansion takes place rain or shine as a primarily indoor event. Bonfire Bash will implement a rain plan including canopies for covered food, fire pit, and music areas.

Parents are the best judge for what younger kids can handle. New this year is “Before Dark,” so you can purchase an early evening ticket from 5 pm to 6 pm that provides entry to Dark Castle and Dark Forest only at a reduced rate. After 6 pm all tickets expand to include the scariest zone, Dark Space, but you can always exit at any time if you become scared.

While the haunted house is designed for guests as young as five through twelve, the Mystery Mansion experience appeals to Halloween fans of all ages.

Bonfire Bash is a classic outdoor fall festival with fire pits and a few scary happenings. It includes live music, photo ops, and the glow of the bonfires before or after your ticket time. Food and drinks are available for sale.

Mystery Mansion is at The Woman's Club of Chevy Chase, 7931 Connecticut Avenue, just two miles inside the Beltway. Enter from the parking lot side of the building, directly south of Dunlop Street.

Free parking is available behind the building. The parking lot entrance is located on Dunlop Street. Additional parking is available across Dunlop at the Chevy Chase Library.
